She had been a. resident of Oelwein for 53 years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian church. For the past 15 years she has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. John Alsip. She is survived by two, daughters and three sons: Margaret, Mrs. John Alsip, Gertrude, Mrs. Charles Wilcox, and George Platt, all of Oelwein; Clarence Platt of Omaha, Nebr. and Seyrnoew Platt of Cedar Rapids. Also three sisters and a brother: Mrs. Laura Moulton of Ft. Wayne, Ind., Mrs. Nora, Campbell, of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Minnie Stokes of Tonkawa, Okla., and Jay Dietrick of Ariba, Colorado; twelve grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Her husband, L. D. Platt, died Oct. 29, 1940. Funeral; services were held at the First Presbyterian church with the pastor, the Rev. L. W. Hauter in charge. Mrs. G. B. Hintz and Mrs. Robert Hines, accompanied by Mrs. L. E. Hilsabeck at the organ, sang. Burial was at the Edgewood, la cemetery. Casket bearers were Donald Day, Kelsey Fry, Charles Logan, Glenn Morrow, Wayne Potter and Chris Warnstadt.
