Description	:	Ambrose Andrew Kisslinger, 88, Hays, died Monday, May 22, 2017 at Good Samaritan Society, Ellis, Kansas after a brief yet courageous battle with cancer. He was born March 1, 1929, in Ransom to Hermann and Catherine (Flax) Kisslinger. He attended Cyrus Country School. He married Rita Dinges in 1951. That marriage was annulled. Ambrose met his beloved wife, Alverna Jane Jacobs Kisner, at a polka dance and they married on October 25, 2003. Alverna preceded him in death on May 15, 2015. Read More	Ambrose Andrew Kisslinger, 88, Hays, died Monday, May 22, 2017 at Good Samaritan Society, Ellis, Kansas after a brief yet courageous battle with cancer. He was born March 1, 1929, in Ransom to Hermann and Catherine (Flax) Kisslinger. He attended Cyrus Country School. He married Rita Dinges in 1951. That marriage was annulled. Ambrose was a member of the Immacualate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Hays and belonged to the Knights of Columbus. He was also a past member of the Ransom Go-Getters Senior Citizens, and he served on the Ransom Co-op Board of Directors. Along with his wife Alverna, Ambrose was a member of the Sunflower Polka Club. Survivors include his beloved granddaughter, Amanda Schuckman and husband, Chris, Manhattan; his four stepchildren, Roger Kisner and wife, Patti, Victoria, Rex Kisner and wife, Lena, Hutchinson, MaryJane Spresser, Littleton, Colo., and David Kisner and wife, Sue, Hays; several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and siblings which include four sisters, Ann Pfannenstiel, Little River, Regina Schuster, WaKeeney, Rosetta Healy, Ness City, and Berneece Blakely, Hays; two brothers, John Kisslinger and wife, Barbara, Ransom, and Joe Kisslinger, Spokane, Washington He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Kisslinger; and three sisters, Betty Casey, Frances Casey, and Rosalie Smith and brother in law, Terry Blakeley. Services were held May 25, 2017 at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Aloysius Church, Ransom; burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery, Ransom. Viewing was until 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2017 and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, 2017 both at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City and from 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, 2017 until time of service Thursday, May 25, 2017, at St. Aloysius Church. A rosary/vigil was at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at the St. Aloysius Church. Memorials were suggested to St. Aloysius Church, Ransom Senior Center, Masses or donor’s choice in care of Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City, KS.
