Description	:	From Moulton Weekly Tribune Ambrose Horn, son of Matthew and Mary Susan Lunsford Horn was born January 21, 1874 in Davis Co., Iowa and passed away December 18, 1956 at the St. Joseph hospital in Centerville, Iowa. At the time of his death, he was 82 years, 10 months and 27 days old. He was one of eleven children, being preceded in death by his father and mother, three brothers and six sisters, also a grandson, William Eastman French. On March 10, 1897, he was united in marriage to LuEtta Lynch. To this union was born three children, Katherine Faye, Wendell Lester and Edith Lucille. He is survived by his wife LuEtta, the three children, Mrs Faye French of Anoka, Minn., Wendell L. Horn of Peoria, 111. and Mrs. Edith Horn of Moulton, besides the ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and one brother, Harley Horn of Burlington, Iowa. He had been a farmer his en- tire life. His health became bad five years ago, but he was not forced to leave the farm until June 5, 1956 when he and his wife moved to Moulton. His condition did not become serious until he fell at home and broke his hip December 3. Then he was taken to St. Joseph hospital in Centerville where he passed away. Ambrose had many sincere friends. His quiet and unassum- ing manner won for him the re- spect and admiration of those he knew. In his early years he was always ready to lend a helping hand in sickness and death. He possessed the qualities of one whose faith was deep and silent. Many times he would express his thankfulness for a good crop, a nice rain or the recovery of someone who had been ill. He enjoyed attending church at the old Liberty Baptist Church near Stober Springs and the church at Monterey. "Being home at work" were the thoughts uppermost in his mind most of the time. But he was never too busy to welcome a friend or neighbor for a visit. One of his greatest pleasures was reading good books and lis- tening to music. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and neighbors. And I have hope—I keep its fire burning, Although my soul and body be distressed. The hope that somehow with the old earth's turning, This pain will cease, and time will bring me rest. Oh, I believe that He who walks beside me, closer than any lover, any friend, will lead at last, no matter what betide me Into the sunlight at my journey's end. The funeral was held from Eagle's Funeral Home at Moulton, Iowa, Saturday December 22, at 11:00 a. m. Interment was at the Burgher Cemetery. The services were conducted by Quentin E. Johnson minister to the Christian Church at Stiles, Iowa. The pallbearers were: Lowell French, Kenneth Johnson, Roy Wright, Carl Johnson Ralph Starr, and Kendall Johnson. The music was furnished by Mrs. Tom Starr and Mrs. Ken- neth Johnson.
