Read More	Parents: Mathias & Sarah (Mummert) Walter Suggested edit: Buckeye State Newspaper, Lisbon, Ohio Thursday, October 28, 1909 Ambrose Walters (Walter) Ambrose Walters passed away at his home on South Market Street Thursday morning at 8:30 o'clock after suffering several days with lockjaw. Some time ago the deceased met with an accident by where he lost the tips of several of his fingers and a few days later had the misfortune to run a rusty nail in his foot. While the injuries were painful to serious trouble was apparent but on Monday of this week the community was shocked to learn that lockjaw had set in and the Mr. Walters condition was critical being robust and physically bit it was still hoped that he would be able to overcome the disease with all efforts of the attending physician were unavailing. Mr. Walters was 51 years of age, being born in Fairfield township, September 30, 1851, where he lived until about 32 years of age, when he moved to Lisbon and united in marriage with Miss Ida Shaw, of which union no children were born. He is survived by his father Mathias Walters, of Fairfield township, and three brothers, Amos, who resides at home with his father, P. A. Walter of Lisbon and William of East Palestine. For the last twenty years Mr. Walters has been a resident of Lisbon where he followed the occupation of carpenter and contractor. He was regarded as a skilled workman, and was noted for his industry. He was strictly upright in all his dealings with his fellow men, a good citizen and a man who had the respect of everybody. The funeral was held from the last home on South Market street Sunday afternoon. Interment made in the city cemetery. Rev. Knight officiating.
