Mrs. Binneboese, a member of a pioneer family settling in Plymouth county in early times had resided in Le Mars for the past five years. Mrs. Amelia Binneboese was a native of Germany and was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gottlieb Werner. She was born January 5, 1860. She grew up and was educated in her native land and when a young woman came to America in 1880. She was united in marriage with August Binneboese May 28, 1880, at Plainfield, Ill. Shortly after their marriage they came to Plymouth county and obtained land in Lincoln township. They were successful in their farming operations. Mr. Binneboese, ably assisted by his wife, develoed and improved the land, at that time cheap, and engaging in general farming and stock raising became the own of six hundred acres of land, a fine home, with buildings and conveniences in keeping. PROMINENT IN TOWNSHIP Mr. and Mrs. Binneboese, while residents of Lincoln township, were always active in the social and religious life of the community and consistent members of the Lutheran church. Mrs. Binneboese will be remembered by many long time associates for kindly acts and neighborly deeds. Mrs. Binneboese was a member of the Ladies Aid society of the Lincoln Lutheran church. She leaves to mourn her death three sons, William A Binneboese, of Sioux City, Albert and John Binneboese, of Lincoln township, and four daughters, Mrs. Charles Moser, of LeMars, Mrs. Herman Lang, of Le Mars, Mrs. Wm. Franzen, of Lincoln township, Mrs. Fred Henry, of Elkhorn. There are twenty-three grandchildren and one great grandchild. FUNERAL IN LINCOLN The funeral will be held from the residence at 1 o’clock Saturday afternoon with services in the Lincoln township Lutheran church at 2 o’clock, the pastor, Rev. A. J. Torgler, officiating, and interment will be made in the Lincoln township cemetery. ****** Le Mars Globe Post Thursday, March 16th, 1933 (Starts on Page 1, continues on Page 6) PLYMOUTH COUNTY PIONEER DIES Mrs. Amelia Binneboese Dies Wednesday Following a Short Sickness Death Wednesday claimed Mrs. Amelia Binneboese, 214 1st Ave. S. E., who passed away early that morning following a two weeks sickness. Death was due to infirmities of old age. Mrs. Binneboese is a well known resident of Plymouth county where she had lived for many years, coming to Plymouth county in 1882, settling in Lincoln township, and moving to the city of LeMars in 1928. All but two years of her life in the United States was spent in Plymouth County. Amelia Binneboese was born in Germany, January 5, 1860, and passed away at the age of 73 years, 2 months and 10 days. She was the daughter of Gotleb and Charlotte Werner, natives of Germany. She was united in marriage in 1880 to August Binneboese at Plainfield, Ill. Mr and Mrs Binneboese later came to Plymouth county and settled in Lincoln township where they were active members of the Lutheran church and in the social and religious life of the community. They were hled in the highest regard and respect by the people of the township. Mr. Binneboese, who passed away some years ago, was one of the organizers of the Lincoln township church. Surviving Mrs. Binneboese are three sons: William A., of Sioux City; Albert and John of Lincoln township, Four daughters, Mrs. Chas. Moser, of LeMars (Continued on Page 6) Mrs. Herman Lang of LeMars; ; Mrs. Wm. Franzen of Lincoln township and Mrs. Fred Henry of Elkhorn township. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services for Mrs. Binneboese will be conducted from the home at 1 pm. Saturday and and at the Lincoln township Lutheran church at 2 pm. With Rev R J Toergler officiating. Interment will be made in the Lincoln township cemetery with Luken’s in charge. ****** Le Mars Globe Post Monday, March 27, 1933 Amelia Charlotte Binneboese Mrs. Amelia Charlotte Binneboese nee Werner, was born on January 5, 1860, in Pomeroy, Germany. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith in early infancy and was educated in her native country. Deceased was confirmed in the Lutheran church in Germany. At the age of 20, in the year 1880, she came to America with her sister and lived a short time in Joliet, Ill. Later in that year she was united in holy marriage with August Binneboese in Plainfield, Ill., on May 28, 1880. They lived on a farm until 1883 and then they came to Plymouth county and bought land in Lincoln township, where they were successful farming. Ten children blessed this union, three dying in infancy. Her husband and only sister preceded her in death. Her husband died on December 10, 1925, and her sister two years later. She leaves to mourn her death seven children, three sons and fourth daughters. They are William, of Sioux City; Mrs. Charles Moser, who lived with her mother in LeMars, Mrs. Herman Lang, of LeMars; Albert of Hinton; John of Hinton; Mrs. William Franzen, of Hinton and Mrs. Fred Henry of Kingsley. Four sonsinlaw and two daughtersinlaw, 23 grandchildren, one great-grandson, three brothersinlaw, three sistersinlaw and many other relatives and a host of friends also mourn her passing. She lived in Lincoln township until 1929, when she moved with her daughter, Mrs. Herman Lang to LeMars, where she made her home for about one year. After which she took up her own house at 214 First Avenue S.E., in LeMars, where she lived until her death. Deceased had been suffering with asthma for many years. Following a sickness of about two weeks with bronchitis she died at 12:10 Wednesday morning at the age of 73 years, 2 months and 10 days. Mrs. Binneboese was a faithful member of the Lutheran church, a loving mother and grandmother, kind neighbor and an honor member of Trinity Lutheran ladie’s aid. Funeral services were held on Saturday afternoon at Trinity Lutheran church. She was a member of this same church in Lincoln township for 50 years. Rev R J Torgler officiated at the funeral. Her body was laid to rest besides that of her husband in the Lutheran cemetery. Pallbearers were three grandsons, Clarence Lang, LeRoy Lang, Laurel Henry and three nephews, Arnold Kowalke, Carl Binneboese, and Clay Leinke. Her funeral was largely attended by old neighbors, relatives and friends. To her memory by a granddaughter: In a lonely church yard many miles away Lies you dear old mother ‘neath the cold, cold clay Memories of returning to her tears and sighs Now the old home vacant has no charms for us. One dear form is absent. Mother, kind and true. Evermore she dwells where pleasure never dies. Now in true repentance of the Savior flee. He who pardoned mother. Mercy has for us. Now He awaits to comfort. He will not despise. If we love our Mother we’ll meet her in the skies.
