BARTON End Comes Tuesday at Giltner Home, Funeral Being Held This Afternoon Mrs. Joseph E. Barton, 65, died Tuesday afternoon at her home in Giltner the fourth of a series of strokes proving fatal The obituary follows: Amelia Elizabeth Grim, daughter of Barbara A. and Charles T. Grim was bom at Smithfield, Illinois February 7, 1873. From there she moved to Nebraska in 1883 and established her home in Alexandria. February 17, 1904 she was united in marriage to Joseph E. Barton of Forest City Illinois. In 1910 they moved to Chappell, Nebraska where she lived until September of last year when they moved to Giltner. All her life she was a true Christian having united with the Presbyterian church at Alexandria, later with the Methodist church at Chappell, and then with the Giltner Methodist church. She had an active part in all church activities until prevented from doing so by ill health. She had suffered and practically recovered from three strokes during the last three years but was unable to survive the fourth. Her death came peacefully and quietly on the evening of October 11th at the age of 65 years 8 months and 4 days. Left to mourn are her husband, one son, Lewis, of Big Springs Nebraska and three daughters Flossie Lovell and Phoebe Lovell of Chappell and Mabel Smith of Giltner also ten grandchildren. A small daughter, Nellie, preceded her in death in 1919. She also leaves four sisters, two brothers and many other relatives and friends. Rev. Littrell will conduct a short service at the home in Giltner this afternoon and from there the body will be taken to Chappell where services will be held at the Methodist church and burial in the Chappell cemetery.
