Read More	Kircherbote, Vol. 59A, #20, May 15, 1941 — Amalia Sayler, born as daughter of Wilhelm Ganske and his wife Maria nee Keller, was born on 21 February 1866 in Mariental on the Crimea, South Russia, where she was dedicated to the Lord in Holy Baptism. In her tenth year she came to America with her parents and siblings. The family settled in Yankton, South Dakota. In her 15th year she was confirmed by Pastor Melcher in Hutchinson County. In 1887 she entered the state of holy matrimony with her now mourning husband, Christian Sayler. This marriage was blessed with eleven children, two of whom preceded the mother into Eternity. For a number of years the family lived in Freemont, Hutchinson County, SD. Then they bought a farm five miles northeast of Hosmer, where they lived 34 years. The last seven years the city of Hosmer was their residence. The deceased suffered during the last 15 years, yet there were also times when her condition was satisfactory. On 15 March her condition worsened. In spite of medical treatment her suffering increased from day to day until finally her strength was exhausted. She died of a liver ailment and high blood pressure on Saturday, April 26, at 10 o'clock in the evening and thus brought her age to 75 years, 2 months and 5 days. She leaves behind her deeply sorrowed husband, three sons, namely the twin brothers August near Glen Ullin, ND and Wilhelm at the parents' farm near Hosmer, and Leonard in Leola, SD; also six daughters, Mrs. Pauline Gross, Shoshoni, Wyoming; Mrs. Lydia Ketterling, Hebron, ND; Mrs. Minnie Lehr, Roscoe, SD; Mrs. Johanna Walz, Hebron, ND; Mrs. Emilie Mayer, Hosmer, SD and Mrs. Anna Gutjahr, Java, SD; 31 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Jacob Mayer, Bismarck, ND, as well as many other relatives, friends and acquaintances. The funeral took place in Hosmer on 29 April with many in attendance. May the Lord of all consolation be solace to the survivors! Hosmer, S. Dakota G. Amelia married Christian SAYLER on the 13th of March 1887 in Lesterville, Yankton County, South Dakota. This union was blessed with 11 children.
