Read More	Mrs. Herman Hinzmann Dies at Home Near Bazile Mills Friday night marked the close of a struggle for life when Mrs. Herman Hinzmann passed away at her home near Bazile Mills. The community mourns a very likeable lady, who was held in the highest esteem by all. Amelie Michaelis was born on December 8, 1873 in Sophienhof, Germany. When six years old her mother died and her father a few years later. Being an orphan she was cared for by her older brothers and sisters. At the age of 15 years she was confirmed in the Lutheran church and found employment and thereby supporting herself. On April 24, 1890 she was married to Mr. Herman Hinzmann. This union was blessed with eleven children, five sons and six daughters. One boy and one girl preceded her into eternity in their infancy. In the year 1904 the family emigrated to America and located here in Knox county, Nebraska, near Bazile Mills. After moving to and fro for several years a permanent residence was finally estabished four miles north of Bazile Mills. Although she has had a chronic cough ever since she was a little girl. It was not until about two years ago that her health failed very rapidly. However, it was not her cough that ended her career. It was the lingering disease of which her mother died, dropsy, with other complications of the heart and lungs. For eight weeks she was confined to her bed, steadily becoming weaker, however, without pain. She was a patient and cheerful sufferer, never wavering in the faith of her "Good Shepard" Jesus Christ. She died last Friday evening, Dec. 7 at 11:15 o'clock, less than one hour before her birthday, attaining the age of 54 years, ll months and 29 days. She is survived by her husband, four sons, five daughters, two brothers, one sister and eight grandchildren. Funeral services were held from the home on Monday afternoon and at 1:30 from the Lutheran church at Bazile Mills, Rev. Stegemann officiating. The church was overflowing with friends and relatives who had come to pay their final respects to this good woman. Interment was made in the Lutheran cemetery. To the bereaved relatives we attend sincere sympathy in their hour of great sorrow. ...The Creighton News 13 Dec 1928
