Funeral services were held Saturday, January 9, 2010, at Faith Community Church in Ida Grove, Iowa, under the direction of Christensen-Huffman Funeral Homes. She came to the United States in 1970, and made her home in Ida Grove. On October 28, 1971, Pon was united in marriage to Thomas McShane at the Church of God in Ida Grove. Pon cleaned homes in the community and enjoyed playing Bingo, cooking, walking, and sewing. She enjoyed her heritage and took pride in her family. Survivors include one daughter, Kathy Ehrig of Iowa Falls; five step-children and their spouses, Marc and Maria McShane of St. Paul, MN, Karrie and A.J. Johnson of Forest City, Roxane and Ali Merhi of Milwaukee, WI, Susan and Ted Failor of Austin, MN, and Michele and Mike McFarland of Austin, MN; a grandson, Ryan Freund of Georgia; 11 step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by 11 brothers and sisters, all of Thailand; a brother-in-law and his wife, Donald and Joyce McShane of Battle Creek; and a sister-in-law, Betty Cullen of Ida Grove. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2001; her parents; a brother; and a sister-in-law, Joann McShane.
