Description	:	Mrs. Amy Bass was born July 14, 1861, near Little Rock, LaSalle County, Ill., and departed this life at Geneva, Nebr., November 28, 1944, at the age of 83 years, 4 months and 14 days. At the age of 6 years she moved with her parents to Jefferson Green county, Iowa, where she grew to young womanhood. Read More	Mrs. Amy Bass was born July 14, 1861, near Little Rock, LaSalle County, Ill., and departed this life at Geneva, Nebr., November 28, 1944, at the age of 83 years, 4 months and 14 days. At the age of 6 years she moved with her parents to Jefferson Green county, Iowa, where she grew to young womanhood. She was united in the holy bonds of matrimony to Charlie Bass, March, 1882, in Coone county, Iowa. To this union seven children were born, of whom five are living. They are Mrs. Florence Dodson, Grand Island, Floyd Bass, California; Mrs. Maude Clay, Corvallis, Ore.; Mrs. Tena Kortright, Fort Morgan, Colo., and Vernon Bass, Omaha. In March, 1882, Mrs. Bass came to Sherman county Nebr., where her children were born and where she resided for a number of years. In 1926, she came to Fairmont, where she spent most of the remaining years of her life. Until declining health and advanced age came upon her, she was a faithful attendant of the Federated Church, Fairmont. She leaves to mourn her death the children already mentioned; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a host of friends and other relatives. Three of her grandsons are in the service of our country. A sister, Mrs. Louise Allen, lives in California. Mrs. Bass was a modest, but yet, a woman of enduring character. Her gentle ways and little acts of kindness will ever be held in sacred remembrance by her friends and loved ones. She did what she could to minister to the needs of others, with a good measure of sympathy and understanding. Mrs. Bass was preceded in death by two daughters, Miss Hallie Bass and Mrs. Harry Roberts. Mr. Bass passed away in September, 1933. Funeral services were held at two o'clock Friday afternoon, December 1, in the Kritner Funeral Home parlors in Fairmont, Rev. E.R. King, pastor of the Firmont Federated Church, officiating. Singers were Mrs. Mamie Kemp and Miss Margaret Aldrich, with Mrs. Jessie Philson as pianist. Interment was made in the Fairmont cemetery. Pallbearers were Willard Goodrich, W.R. Dorrance, Preston Ogden, George White, John Anderson, Jr. and Frank Ritchie. A daughter, Mrs. Tena Kortright of Fort Morgan, Colo., summoned here by the fatal illness of her mother, remained until after the funeral. Other children were unable to be present.
