Description	:	OBITUARY Amy Fern Koontz was born near Atwood, Kansas, July 7, 1903 and passed away at the Atwood hospital Nov. 29, 1934 at the age of 31 years, 4 months and 22 days. She attended the city grade school and Rawlins County high school from which she graduated in 1921, and taught one term of school in 1922. She spent the following year attending Cotner college at Bethany, Nebr., afterward teaching in the country schools of Rawlins county. She was united in marriage to Edgar Bowland June 2, 1926. Read More	OBITUARY Amy Fern Koontz was born near Atwood, Kansas, July 7, 1903 and passed away at the Atwood hospital Nov. 29, 1934 at the age of 31 years, 4 months and 22 days. She attended the city grade school and Rawlins County high school from which she graduated in 1921, and taught one term of school in 1922. She spent the following year attending Cotner college at Bethany, Nebr., afterward teaching in the country schools of Rawlins county. She was united in marriage to Edgar Bowland June 2, 1926. To this union three children were born, Edgar Lee, Wilbert Duane, and Elaine Fern. One child, Baby Wilbert preceded her in death, March 20th, 1931. In 1923 while attending college Mrs. Bowland united with the Christian church and tried to live up to its teachings. She was of a pleasant disposition and while never very strong she was energetic and abitious, often beyond her physical ability. She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, and two small children, her father, C. E. Koontz, Denver, Colo., one sister, Mildred E. Springer, Atwood; two brothers, Wayne O. Koontz of Atwood, and Joe L. Koontz of Washington, D.C.; her mother, Mrs. Blanche Koontz, Atwood; Grandmother, Mrs. J. W. Koontz of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two uncles L. L. Orr of Denver, Colo. and Oliver O. Orr of Atwood; four aunts, Miss Esther Koontz of Colorado Springs, Colo., Mrs. Cora Gates of Denver, Colo.; Mrs. Prorry Ludeman, Spokane, Wash.; Mrs. Etta Mallen of Washington, and many other relatives and friends. "To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die." Funeral services were held at the Mayflower Church and interment was in the Mayflower cemetery.
