She was born August 16, 1931 in Rockford, Illinois, daughter of Ole and Jertine Amundsgaarde Sonnack. She married LuVerne Schmidt on May 22, 1954 in Waterloo. She graduated from Northern University High School in 1950, and attended Augsburg College in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She worked at Rath Packing Company, and Bartels Lutheran Home, where she retired in 1982. Preceded in death by one sister, Ingrid Aries; and two brothers, Olaf and Edwin Sonnack. Services 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Klinger, rural Readlyn, with burial in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Klinger. Public visitation from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Readlyn.
