Description	:	Overseer of Whitethorn and Smithfield Plantations h/o Hester Ledgerwood Departed this life on May 9th, 1892, Mr. Anderson Ledgerwood, at the residence of his daughter Mrs. Luther M. Schaeffer. He was born in Roanoke Co., on June 17th, 1824, being therefore nearly 68 years old when he died. For several years he has been in ill health, and during this time he gave much attention to the study of the Bible in which he firmly believed. Cordial in manner, and respectful to all, he had many warm friends. He leaves a number of children to mourn his death. All of them had attained to positions of usefulness. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. C. N. A. Yonce, pastor of the Lutheran church, and Rev. A. Crumpacker, after which his remains were laid to rest at Smithfield.
