Anderson M Stephens, old resident of Leavenworth, died Sunday morning, Feb. 12, at his home in this city, aged 79 years and almost two months. Hatmaker, Leavenworth; Mrs. Gilbert Hale, Leavenworth; Mrs. Jean Haskell, Leavenworth; and Mrs. M. Snyder, Leavenworth. He is also survived by 45 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Stephens survives her husband. The family came to Leavenworth from Tennessee in 1907 and this had since been his home. Mr. Stephens was a kindly man and will be remembered by a large circle of friends. The funeral was held Thursday afternoon from the Pentecostal church at 2 o'clock and burial was made in the Leavenworth cemetery under the direction of the Hennessy Mortuary.
