Highland Recorder November 12, 1920 Anderson Puffenberger, This well-known resident of the Forks of Water section of the county died Tuesday morning after a lingering illness. He was extremely ill early in the present year but had rallied and was able to make one or two trips to Monterey during the summer. A change for the worse came again, however, some two months ago, and he went down rapidly. Mr. Puffenberger was a son of the late Job Puffenberger, was 66 years of age and twice married. his first wife being a Miss Gum, his second Miss Mullenax. He is survived by the latter and four children of the former union. They are Perry Puffenberger and Mrs. James Eagle, of Forks of Waters, Kenny Puffenberger, of Monterey, and Charles of West Virginia. Deceased was one who got a full measure of happiness out of life. Possessing a jovial, contented disposition, he looked on the bright side and carried good cheer wherever he went. He was hospitable and kind, never denying a favor that he could grant or turning a needy one away empty-handed. Mr. Puffenberger had long been a member of the United Brethren church, and during his last illness assured his friends that "his house was in order," answering the Master's call with confidence and resignation. Funeral services were held at the residence Wednesday afternoon and were conducted by Rev. Mr. Lindamood, of the Crabbottom Methodist circuit. Interment was in the home cemetery.
