He had been seriously ill the last two months. Funeral rites will be at 9:30 Wednesday morning at the St Lawrence Church. The Rev. Arthur S. Poeckes will offer requiem mass. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by Maurice Dunn Post No 7, American Legion. The body is resting at the Sharp Funeral Home, where the rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Monday and will be prayed at 9 o'clock by members of Charles Carroll Council No. 780, Knights of Columbus, led by the Rev. Patrick Waite, assistant chaplain of the council. At 7:30 Tuesday evening Carroll Elks Lodge No. 1637 will hold a memorial service at the funeral home, with all Elks requested to meet there at 7:15. The rosary will be led by Fr. Poeckes at 8 p.m. Tuesday. Mr. Krapfl, a retired farmer, was a son of the late Mathias and Josephine Krapfl. Born Nov. 29, 1891, at Petersburg, Iowa, he came to Templeton with his parents when he was 10 years old. He attended Sacred Heart School in Templeton. He was married to Helena Riesselman at St. Augustine's Church in Halbur Feb. 7, 1922, with the Rev. Bernard Schilmoeller officiating. Mr. and Mrs. Krapfl lived on a farm in the vicinity of Manning until 1941 when they retired and moved to Carroll. The present home is at 818 West 18th street. Besides his wife Helena, Mr Krapfl leaves two brothers, Ben and Frank Krapfl, Carroll, and six sisters: Mrs. Ben (Cecelia) Olberding, Luverne, Minn.; Mrs. Henry (Mayme) Schroeder, Arcadia; Mrs. John (Regina) Sandrock, Malvern, Long Island, N.Y.; Mrs. Henry (Lydia) Singsank, Carroll; Mrs. B.C. (Carolyn) Taylor, Adrian, Minn; and Rose Krapfl, Carroll. A World War veteran, Mr. Krapfl had served overseas with the 42nd Engineers. He left this country in May 1918, and returned in June, 1919. Mr. Krapfl was a member of St. Lawrence parish; Carroll Elks Lodge; Maurice Dunn Post, American Legion; and Charles Carroll Council, Knights of Columbus.
