Read More	"Andrew Teal, one of the best known engineers on the Northwestern system,dropped dead at his home in this city at about 7 o'clock Friday morning. The cause of his death was heart attack. Mr. Teal had been ailing for some time and during the past two months has been laying off on account of his health. For the past few days he has been confined to his bead the greater part of the time. This morning he thought he was able to get up, and had only just arisen and was being assisted by Mrs. Teal to a chair, when he suddenly collapsed and fell dead on the floor. For twenty-five years Andy Teal had been an engineer on the Northwestern railroad, going with the old Fremont, Elkhorn and Missouri Valley in 1880 and continuing with the Northwestern when that company took over the road and he was personally acquainted and popular with more than half the people living between Missouri Valley and Long Pine. Mr. Teal was born at Geneva, New York, April 13, 1846, and removed with his parents to western Iowa when he was but a boy, continuing on the farm of his father until he was twenty-five. At that age he began with the Chicago & Northwestern at Missouri Valley as fireman. Afterwards he went to Cheyenne, Wyoming, where he was round house foreman for the Union Pacific for six years, returning to the Missouri Valley and going with the F. E. & M. V. as engineer. His last run was on trains No 1 and 2 between Norfolk and Long Pine, which place he has held since that train was put on two years ago until taken sick. In 1874 he was married to Miss Mary Mandeville of Missouri Valley. There were no children but a little girl was adopted, who is now Mrs. Miller Mather, and who, with her foster mother, deeply mourns the sudden taking away of a true man. Mr. Teal was a member of the Christian church and had been working hard lately toward the construction of a new church building for that denomination, which he hoped to see completed in the near future. He was a popular member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive engineers. He was a brother of F. A. Teal, for many years master mechanic of the F. E. & M. V. at Missouri Valley. Mrs. Moore of Omaha , sister of Mrs. Teal, was visiting at the home at the time the end came, the manner of which had been forecasted by his physician. The funeral will be Sunday afternoon, and will be held under the auspices of the Brotherhood of Locomotive engineers. Interment will be in Prospect Hill cemetery.
