Description	:	Andrew Buckner was born to John and Minnie Buckner on December 4, 1904 at Long Holler on Eleven Point River. He departed this life on June 22, 1997 at his home in Winona, MO at the age of 92 years. He was united in marriage to Esther Lay on June 20, 1927 at the Courthouse in Van Buren, MO. Read More	Andrew Buckner was born to John and Minnie Buckner on December 4, 1904 at Long Holler on Eleven Point River. He departed this life on June 22, 1997 at his home in Winona, MO at the age of 92 years. He was united in marriage to Esther Lay on June 20, 1927 at the Courthouse in Van Buren, MO. To this union six children were born. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Minnie Buckner; seven brothers; Jim, Henry, Alford, Charlie, Fred, Moses and Walter Buckner; four sisters, Delia, Maude, Maggie, and Etta; one grandson, John Wesley Buckner, son of Gordon and Carolyn; and three great-grandchildren, Laurie and Joshua Marsfelder, children of James and Venita Marsfelder, and Isaac Grosze, son of Gary and Terri Grosze. He is survived by his wife Esther, two daughters, Gladys Buckner and Jenene and Paul Weaver all of Winona; four sons, Ernest and Joyce Buckner of Union, MO, Gordon and Carolyn Buckner, Franklin and Glenna Buckner, and Calvin Buckner all of Winona; one brother, Jack Buckner of Birch Tree. MO; one brother-in-law William Hoyd Lay and wife Toni of Winona; three sisters-in-law Clara Sharp of Macon, MO, Opal Woolsey of Mountain View, MO, and Nova Brawley and husband Lee of Winona; 20 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and one great great grandchild; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was a true friend to anyone who was blessed with ever knowing him. The family feels that our loss is Heaven's gain. Andrew will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. He was our rock in the storm. Funeral services were held at 10:00 am Wednesday, June 25, at the Duncan Funeral Chapel in Winona with Rev. Leslie Buckner and Rev. Jim Eskew officiating. Interment was in the Mount Zion Cemetery in Winona under the direction of the Duncan Funeral Home of Winona.
