Fox, 59, of 515 South thirty-fourth street, died at a local hospital at 8:45 p.m. Sunday (May 7). He had been in ill health for the last three years, and seriously ill since April 20, when he suffered a paralytic stroke. He was taken to the hospital Saturday night. A retired Northern Pacific railroad switchman, Mr. Fox had resided in Billings since 1906, except for three years when he was employed by the Burlington railroad at Sheridan, Wyo. He was born Nov. 16, 1879, at Elkador [sp], Iowa. He married Mary E. Comer at Filson, Okla. on December 27, 1903. During the next two years he was employed by the Rock Island Railroad at Shawnee, Okla., and came to Billings in October, 1906. He resided at Sheridan from 1909 to 1912 and then returned here. He retired in April, 1936, after suffering a paralytic stroke. Mr. Fox was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen and of the Security Benefit association. In addition to his widow, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Victor Miller of Billings; a son, Harry Fox of Everett, Wash.; three grandchildren, Loretta and Richard Fox and Gerald Miller; his mother, Mrs. Phoebe Gardner of Castalia, Iowa; a brother, Charles Fox; and three sisters, Mrs. Tom Dowd of Ottumwa, Iowa; and Mrs. Alex Morrow of Glenwood, Ill. the son was here at the time of Mr. Fox's death. The body is at the Smith funeral home.
