Description	:	Andrew "Andy" Irwin, 65, of Pierson died Tueday, September 13, 1994, at a Sioux City hospital. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, September 16, 1994, at Meadow Star United Methodist Church in rural Washta, Iowa. Rev. John Battern officiated and burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery in Pierson under direction of Earnest-Dickison-Michaelson Funeral Home. John Battern officiated and burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery in Pierson under direction of Earnest-Dickison-Michaelson Funeral Home. Mr. Irwin was born March 29, 1929, in Pierson, the son of Edwin and Myrtle (Wood) Irwin. He graduated from Pierson High School in 1947. He married Dorothy Black July 18, 1948, in Pierson. She died August 18, 1984. He married Maroldine Armstrong in 1986 at Elk Point, South Dakota. A lifetime Pierson area resident, he began farming in 1950. Mr. Irwin was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of Meadow Star United Methodist Church and was a Past Master of Rutland Masonic Lodge 607 AF&AM of Pierson. Survivors include his wife, a son and his wife, Danny and Linn Irwin of Pierson; two stepsons, Robert Armstrong of Chicago and Todd and his wife, Jamie Armstrong of Sheboygan, Wisconsin; and a sister, Evalyn Kerr of Bettendorf. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son David, two brothers, Eddie and Al, and a sister, Dorothy Hopp.
