Description	:	The Casner name morphed into several spellings. Those that settled in the Pacific Northwest spelled it Carsner; those in AZ, NM, TX spelled it Casner; those in California spelled it Carsoner. The first record found of Andrew is in IA in 1847. He migrated to OR in 1852 with his widowed mother and his siblings. On 1-10-1856 in the home of her stepmother east of Brownsville, Linn County, OR, he married Catherine Fields. He migrated to OR in 1852 with his widowed mother and his siblings. On 1-10-1856 in the home of her stepmother east of Brownsville, Linn County, OR, he married Catherine Fields. To this union were born twelve children. Andrew was a private in Captain John H. Settle's Co. "D", Recruiting Battallion, 1st Regt., Oregon Militia Volunteers. He served as a private from 6-5-1856 through 8-14-1856 in Company C, Oregon Mounted Volunteers under Captain Haley. He left his young wife with her family in Brownsville while he fought in the Indian wars. Catherine is listed as the widow of Andrew J. Casner in the Indian Wars Pensions. It was from the pension records that his deate of death was obtained. Andrew Jackson Carsner signed an affidavit to purchase a donation land claim #2573 from Levi Fields in Linn County, OR on 1-19-1864. James Carsner signed an Oath of Allegiance as purchaser of the claim. Several witnesses signed including A. J. Carsner, Henry Casner, Thomas Fields, John Fields, and Robert Glass as the Justice of the Peace. Andrew and his family are shown on the 1870 OR, Clackamas County census and on the 1880 WA TY, Cowlitz census. Andrew and Catherine are shown on the 1885 WA Special Census. He is buried in an unmarked grave.
