Description	:	Andrew Jackson Crawford, 87, of Dyke, Virginia, went into the presence of the Lord on Thursday, March 6, 2014, at his residence. He was the son of the late Grover Cleveland Crawford and Matilda Morris Crawford. He was born on July 30, 1926, at Powell's Gap, Skyline Drive, and lived there the first 12 years of his life. Read More	Andrew Jackson Crawford, 87, of Dyke, Virginia, went into the presence of the Lord on Thursday, March 6, 2014, at his residence. He was the son of the late Grover Cleveland Crawford and Matilda Morris Crawford. He was born on July 30, 1926, at Powell's Gap, Skyline Drive, and lived there the first 12 years of his life. The remaining years of his life were spent at his current home in Dyke. Andrew was preceded in death by a daughter, Evelyn Kaye Crawford; four sisters, Blanch Morris, Mary Roach, Lizanna Clements, and Doll Ann Morris; and two brothers, Roman and Lindsey Morris. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Margie Raleigh Crawford; his daughters, Wanda Hensley and husband, Virgil, of Dyke, and Ellen Childress of Ruckersville; sons, Wayne Crawford and wife, Pat, of Charlottesville, Kenny Crawford and wife, Jean, of Stanardsville, and Charles Crawford and wife, Shirley, of Dyke. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren. Andrew worked at the University of Virginia in the maintenance department. He was a member of the Bacon Hollow Baptist Church where he attended faithfully. Andrew enjoyed playing music and singing with his wife, Margie, and church friends until he became sick. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2014, at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Madison, conducted by Pastor Malcolm Powell and Pastor Van Crawford. The burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Dyke. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Saturday evening, March 8, 2014, at the funeral home.
