Andrew's second wife was Margaret Butler, they had 5 children together, their children are, Jesse, Julia, Mary, John and Margaret.∼Andrew JACKSON YORK III is the son of Andrew JACKSON Jr. and Mary "Polly" SAVAGE TURNER widow of Jesse Plural TURNER. His father Andrew JACKSON, Jr. abandoned the family shortly after his birth and his mother Mary "Polly" SAVAGE TURNER JACKSON married for the third time in 1822 to Darius YORK who adopted the baby and paid to have his name changed to YORK. His mother Mary "Polly" SAVAGE age fifteen first married in 1812 to Jesse Plural TURNER in Randolph County, North Carolina. They had one child Martin Simpson TURNER born 13 Feb 1813. Jesse Plural went off to fight in the WAR of 1812 but never returned. The young twenty one old widow Mary "Polly" SAVAGE TURNER is alleged to have married Andrew JACKSON, Jr. in 1818. They had a son Andrew JACKSON, III. born 11 Feb 1819 perhaps out of wedlock. Andrew JACKSON, Jr. left the union leaving his namesake son and a young consort. Next Mary "Polly" SAVAGE TURNER JACKSON age twenty five married a third time in 1822 to Darius YORK age twenty. It is told by multiple family descendants including Noda York and Charlie Staley that Darius YORK went to the courts in Asheboro and paid $5.00 to have his step son Andrew JACKSON, III adopted and changed his name to Andrew JACKSON YORK. Darius YORK and Mary "Polly" SAVAGE adopted her son Andrew Jackson, III as their son Andrew JACKSON YORK. Andrew JACKSON YORK and his wife Mary Emeline YORK lived with Darius YORK and Mary "Polly" SAVAGE. The grand children grew up in the home of the grandparents, especially the grandmother because their grandfather Darius was often on the road as a traveling salesman.
