Read More	The Correctionville News, 17 April 1930, page 1: Accidental death came to Andrew Nicholey Hansen, oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Hansen, about 9 o'clock Sunday night. Andrew was riding with a companion by the name of Vogt and the two boys were driving from Charter Oak to Ricketts. Just as they went to go down the last long hill into Ricketts they attempted to pass some cars that were in the road ahead of them but in going around the cars they were going at a high rate of speed and lost control of the car in the loose dirt at the side of the road, the car, a new Ford sedan, leaving the grade and rolling for a distance of 137 feet, rolling completely over 7 times, both boys being thrown out through the top of the car, Andrew being thrown clear to the fence at the side of the road. His neck was broken and death came instantly without doubt. His companion who had been driving received a broken back and is in the hospital at Denison. Andrew Nicholey Hansen was born at Schleswig, Iowa, December 16, 1908, and passed away near Ricketts, Iowa, April 13, 1930, being at the time of his death 21 years, 3 months and 27 days of age. The deceased lived with his parents at Battle Creek and Danbury until coming to Correctionville. About three years ago he left Correctionville and went to Charter Oak where he took employment on a farm and where he made good as a workman and citizen. Those who mourn include his parents, eight living brothers and three sisters, Mrs. Marie Seibold of near Ute, and Leonard, Raymond, Martin, John, Elmer, Greta, Caroline, Dan, Leo, and Donald at home. Wilson's Undertaking Service went to Charter Oak Monday after the body and brought it to their parlors here where it was left until the hour of the funeral. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Evangelical Church in Correctionville with Rev. Deedrick officiating. Interment was made in the cemetery at Midway at the side of a sister, Henrietta, who had died in infancy.
