Description	:	Andrew N Day died in Laporte City, Iowa, March 2nd, 1881, aged 73 years. He was born in Strong, Maine and was converted when eighteen years of age, and at once joined the M.E. Church, of which he continued a worthy member till his death. In 1837 Bro. Day removed to Dexter and at once identified himself with the feeble, struggling Methodist Church in that place. Read More	Andrew N Day died in Laporte City, Iowa, March 2nd, 1881, aged 73 years. He was born in Strong, Maine and was converted when eighteen years of age, and at once joined the M.E. Church, of which he continued a worthy member till his death. In 1837 Bro. Day removed to Dexter and at once identified himself with the feeble, struggling Methodist Church in that place. Bros Sanderson, Church Browning and Allen, all former pastors of that church, still live to bear witness to Bro. Day's fidelity and earnest co-operation with their efforts. In 1851 he buried his wife, who was a gentle loving companion, and devoted Christian. In about two years he married again, and after a few years removed to the west, finally settling in Laporte City, Iowa. He found there no public religious worship, no church; but he soon gathered a large Sunday School, secured Sunday preaching and an organized church was the result. Bro. Day was for more than forty years a faithful Class Leader, and the writer bears grateful testimony to his prayers and counsels in assisting him into the hope of the Gospel and a clear conception of his duty and life work in the ministry. His end was calm and serene, a fitting close for such a life. "Servant of God, well done." Since the above obituary was written Bro.
