Mr. Gustafson was engaged in business in Edgar some years ago as a shoemaker and enjoyed a very liberal patronage. The impassable roads have prevented sending in an obituary this week but it will probably be handed in for the next issue. ========================================== The Edgar Sun Fri, Mar 28, 1924 - Pg 5 Mr. Andrew Theodore Gustafson was born October 31, 1851 in Westergotland, Sweden. At the usual age he was confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Sweden. In October 1869, he arrived in America from his foster-country and settled first in Chicago, Illinois. Later he moved to Galesburg, Ill., where he lived for a number of years. While in Galesburg, he was married to Miss Cecilia Millberg in the year 1877 on Sept 11. From Galesburg the young couple moved to Minneapolis, Minn., where they lived for a number of years. In 1893 the deceased moved to Edgar where he has resided until he was summoned to the home above. After over thirty years of happily married life, his wife was called home. On Nov 18, 1913, Mr Gustafson married Miss Hannah Slatt of Edgar. The last few years Mr. Gustafson has been suffering from various ailments which finally resulted in his death which occurred after being bedfast for three weeks at :15 A. M. March 13, 1924. His life trade was that of a shoemaker. He was well known in and about the community of Edgar and had many friends. He was a sincere Christian and a few days before his death, he told pastor that he felt prepared to enter the * of many . He left to mourn his loss, his devoted wife, Mrs Hannah Gustafson and numerous other relatives and friends. The funeral services were held on March 15, 1924, at 10 o'clock in the home and 11 o'clock at the Methodist Episcopol Church in . Mr. Paul A. Westerberg pastor of the Gethesmane Lutheran Church in Ong, Nebr of which the deceased was a member, conducted the funeral services in the English language. The text was taken from Hebrews 9:27.
