Description	:	Born Anders Thomasen, he was the son of Thomas Andersen and Marte Andersdr [Andersdatter]. Anders was born in what was then known as Nes, Hedmark, Norway. Anders Thomasen immigrated to America in 1877 and anglicized his name to Andrew Lee. Lee was the name of the farm that the family lived on in Norway and the surname that his father, his mother, and his siblings took, as well. Read More	Born Anders Thomasen, he was the son of Thomas Andersen and Marte Andersdr [Andersdatter]. Anders was born in what was then known as Nes, Hedmark, Norway. Anders Thomasen immigrated to America in 1877 and anglicized his name to Andrew Lee. Lee was the name of the farm that the family lived on in Norway and the surname that his father, his mother, and his siblings took, as well. On the 1885 Minnesota State Census, Green Meadow, Norman County, Andrew Lee, age 19, appeared with his father, Thomas Lee, 58; his mother, Martha Lee, 53; his brother, Tollef Lee, 12; and his brother, Martin Lee, 9; all were born in Norway. Andrew Lee married Ida Oline Peterson, daughter of Halvor Pederson and Ragnild Fulsaas, on March 12, 1890, in Decorah, Winneshiek County, Iowa; they were married until her death on January 13, 1911. Ida's parents were also known as Howard and Rachel Peterson. On the 1895 Minnesota State Census, Green Meadow, Norman County, Andro [sic-Andrew] Lee, age 29, appeared with his father, Thomas Lee, 68; his mother, Martha Lee, 63; his brother, Tollef Lee, 25; and his brother Martin Lee, 18, as well as Andrew's wife, Ida Lee, 25; their son, Henry [sic-Albert] Lee, 5; their daughter, Minnie Lee, 4; their son, Albert [sic-Henry] Lee, 2; and their daughter, Lizzie Lee, 1. Andrew was shown as born in Iowa [sic-Norway]; the youngest child, daughter Lizzie, was born in Minnesota; his wife and their other children were all born in Iowa. Thomas, Martha, Tollef, and Martin were all born in Norway. On the 1900 Census, Andrew K. [sic-T.] Lee, Ida, Henry, Minnie, Albert, Lizzie, and Emma Lee resided in Green Meadow. The family was not found on the 1905 Minnesota State Census. Between 1900 and 1908, Andrew, Ida, and their children relocated from Green Meadow, Norman County, Minnesota, to Jamestown, Stutsman County, North Dakota, where they lived out their lives. On the 1910 Census, Ann [sic-Andrew] Lee and family were found in Jamestown. It was stated there that Ida had borne six children and that four were living. The six were: Albert William Lee (1890-1918), Mina Myrtle ("Minnie") (Lee) Maxam (1891-1990), Henry Edward Lee (1892-1950), Elizabeth ("Lizzie") (Lee) Mrozek (1893-1969), Lisa Regine Lee (1894-before 1895), and Emma Alette Lee (1898-1908). He was born in Norway and was 46 years of age. Mr. Lee was a car repairer and has been employed by the Northern Pacific for some time. He had made his home in Jamestown for the last five years. The deceased is survived by four children, Henry, Albert, Minnie and Elizabeth Lee, and his brother, Tollef Lee of Ada, Minn., was called here by his death. The funeral will be held at the Congregational Church Wednesday afternoon." Andrew's parents were married on December 28, 1853, in Nes, Hedmark, Norway, as Thomas Andersen and Marthe Andersdr. Thomas Andersen was the son of Anders Thomassen. The couple immigrated to America ca 1877 and settled in Norman County, Minnesota, ca 1881. Among their children were: Arndt Thomasen Lee (1854-1939), Andrew Thomasen Lee (1866-1912), Taale Thomasen ("Tollef") Lee (1869-1954), and Martin Lee (1876-after Minnesota State Census of 1895). On the 1900 Census, Winchester, Norman County, Minnesota, patriarch Thomas Lee, 72, born October 1827 in Norway, lived in the household of his son, Arndt Lee. Since Thomas was not found on the 1905 Minnesota State Census, it appears that he died between 1900 and 1905. On the 1900 Census, Green Meadow, Norman County, Minnesota, matriarch Mearta [sic-Martha] Lee, 67, born November 1832 in Norway, lived in the household of her son, Tollef Lee. On the 1905 Minnesota State Census, Ada, Norman County, Martha Lee, 72, born in Norway, lived in the household of her son, Tolf [sic-Tollef] Lee. Since Martha was not found on the 1910 Census, it appears that she died between 1905 and 1910.
