McFarlane of this city, who was called to the bedside of his brother last Saturday evening. Deceased was well known in this vicinity being a former resident of this locality. The funeral will... Read More	Brother of E. W. McFarlane Groton Dies at Ortley Andrew McFarlane passed away at Ortley, S. D., according to word received Tuesday evening from E. W. McFarlane of this city, who was called to the bedside of his brother last Saturday evening. Deceased was well known in this vicinity being a former resident of this locality. We have no particulars at hand for this issue, but a complete obituary will be published next week. Funeral services were held at Ortley Wednesday and the remains brought to Groton the same evening. The funeral will be held here today (Thursday) from the Diedrich undertaking parlor, at 2:00 p. m., and interment will be made in the Groton cemetery. --------------------------------------------------------------- Andrew McFarlane was born on February 5, 1867 at Dane, Wisconsin and died at his farm home four miles northeast of Ortley on July 12, 1920, at the age of 55 years, five months and seven days. He came to South Dakota with his parents in 1888, settling at Groton where he resided until 1910, when he moved to his present home. He was united in marriage with Miss Luella Cook, February 23, 1898. To this union was born seven children, four boys and three girls, Harold, Vern, Eli, Esther, Ruth, Grace and Leslie. Besides his wife and children he leaves to mourn his loss five brothers and one sister, Peter, Charles and Al of Aitkin, Minn,, William, formerly of Hetting, N. D., Eli of Groton, and Mrs. Maitie Perrin of Sioux City, Iowa. During his residence here he gained many friends who now extend to the bereaved family many expressions of sympathy. During the days of his illness and to the very close of his earthly pilgrimage, he felt resigned to the Heavenly Father's Will, even though hope of recovery was far from him. He rests from his labors no more to suffer, as he awaits the coming of dear ones left behind.
