Description	:	Avery and Viola J. (Franklin) McElhiney welcomed Andy into the world as proud parents on June 2, 1931. He was united in marriage to the former Wilma Hayes on October 25, 1949 in Rose Hill. Andy worked for Boeing Airplane Company for 17 years before going to work for the State of Kansas Employment Office in El Dorado, where he retired as the manager. Andy was a long time community volunteer. Read More	Avery and Viola J. (Franklin) McElhiney welcomed Andy into the world as proud parents on June 2, 1931. He was united in marriage to the former Wilma Hayes on October 25, 1949 in Rose Hill. Andy worked for Boeing Airplane Company for 17 years before going to work for the State of Kansas Employment Office in El Dorado, where he retired as the manager. Andy was a long time community volunteer. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Patmos Masonic Lodge, Douglass Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite in Wichita, where he held 32nd degree, El Dorado Kiwanis’s ( he was in charge of “burning” sausage at every pancake day), Meals on Wheels delivery and set up and clean up for the Red Cross blood drives. His greatest joy was his family. Andy passed away on Wednesday April 20, 2016 at Golden Living Center in El Dorado. He is preceded in death by his parents and wife of 63 years, Wilma, in 2012. Andy’s family will gather with friends on Friday from 5-7 p.m. at Carlson Funeral Home. His funeral service will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. at First Christian Church led by Pastor Stan Seymour. Andy will be laid to rest in Walnut Valley Memorial Park. Memorial contributions in his name may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association.
