Description	:	Angela Matya, 88, of Cedar Rapids died Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012, at Lakeside Hospital in Omaha. Angela was born July 18, 1923, at Greeley to John A. and Nell V. (Taylor) Hogan. Angela was baptized and confirmed at Greeley Sacred Heart Church, attended Sacred Heart Elementary School and graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1941. Following graduation, Angela worked as a legal secretary for her uncle at the Lanigan-Ondracek Law Firm in Greeley. Read More	Angela Matya, 88, of Cedar Rapids died Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012, at Lakeside Hospital in Omaha. Angela was born July 18, 1923, at Greeley to John A. and Nell V. (Taylor) Hogan. Angela was baptized and confirmed at Greeley Sacred Heart Church, attended Sacred Heart Elementary School and graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1941. Following graduation, Angela worked as a legal secretary for her uncle at the Lanigan-Ondracek Law Firm in Greeley. On Nov. 8, 1947, Angela was united in marriage to Daniel Matya at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Greeley. They lived in Cedar Rapids, where Dan farmed and Angela worked at home as a housewife and mother of five children. Angela was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and Altar Society, CCD Teacher, Parish Council Board Member, and held various offices in these organizations. Her greatest pride and joy was her family. Angela was also preceded in death by: parents, husband, Anaiel Matya, granddaughter, Elizabeth Matya, brother, John Hogan, and sisters, Teresa Hogan and Mary Eileen Trautman. Survivors are: sons and daughters-in-law, Dan Matya Jr. of San Jose, Calif., Jim and Joyce Matya of Lincoln, Tom and Karen Matya of Dekalb, Ill., Rev. Robert Matya of Lincoln; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ellen and Dan Gordon of Omaha; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Published in The Grand Island Independent on February 24, 2012
