She was born Angela Mae Mortensen on Jan. 28, 1907, in Kilgore, Idaho, the sixth of eight children to George Mortensen and Polly Stringham. Angela was raised in Idaho, Utah and Montana where she developed a love of the outdoors and the beauty of nature. She married Harry Dillard on May 1, 1928. Angela and Harry moved with their family to Henderson in 1953, where she was active in activities of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was artistically talented and self reliant and taught art to children and adults for many years in the city recreation center program. She upholstered her own furniture, sewed clothing for herself and her children, baked the best pumpkin chiffon pie and date-filled cookies and made the best divinity to be found. Angela married Jack Hallahan on Feb. 3, 1975, and they moved to La Verkin, Utah, where they lived for 16 years and where she and Jack maintained a beautiful garden before returning to Henderson in 1991. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harry Dillard; her eldest child, David; a grandson, Theodore Thomas; and a granddaughter, Miranda. This beloved wife, mother and grandmother is survived by her husband, John W. "Jack" Hallahan; daughters, Bonnie (Emerson) Bock of Yuba City, Calif., Keran (Charles) Yates of Pahrump and Lora (Jim) Gibson; son, Anthony (Jackie) Dillard, all of Henderson; along with 14 grandchildren; 18 great-granchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. A viewing will be from noon-1:45 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12. Services will follow at 2 p.m., both at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Ocean Street Chapel. Arrangements were handled by Palm Mortuary-Henderson.
