Description	:	Angela Russell was born Oct 24, 1891 at Sioux City, Ia to Michael and Ellen Kirby Russell. She graduated from St Catherine's high School in St Paul, MN. In 1914 she graduated from the University of Iowa at Iowa City. After college she taught school for 1 year at Gregory, SD before moving to Salem SD in 1915. She taught High School in Salem for several years after moving here. She was married to John H Ahern on June 4, 1917 in Sioux City, Ia. She lived in Salem where her husband operated a drug store for... Read More	Angela Russell was born Oct 24, 1891 at Sioux City, Ia to Michael and Ellen Kirby Russell. She graduated from St Catherine's high School in St Paul, MN. In 1914 she graduated from the University of Iowa at Iowa City. After college she taught school for 1 year at Gregory, SD before moving to Salem SD in 1915. She taught High School in Salem for several years after moving here. She was married to John H Ahern on June 4, 1917 in Sioux City, Ia. She lived in Salem where her husband operated a drug store for the rest of her life. She worked along side in the drug store with her husband. John Passed away July 16, 1983 and Angela passed away on thursday Feb 23, 1984 at the Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Salem. She had reached the age of 92 years, 3 months and 29 days. She was a member of St Mary's Catholic Church, the Altar Society and the Women's Catholic Order of Foresters. Survivors include a son Russell of Yankton, SD; a daughter Mrs William (Jeanne) L Shea of Albert Lea, MN; 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Mrs Fred (Ellen) Gillis, West Roxbury, Mass., a brother Robert Russell of Milwaukee, Wisc and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded by her parents, husband John, two brothers and two sisters.
