She was born at Finchville in Dorchester County on December 22, 1928 the daughter of the late Cecil H. Wheatley and Mary Carroll Wheatley. Her husband, Ernest J. Collins preceded her in death on December 6, 2006. She was a graduate of Hurlock High School class of 1945. She was born at Finchville in Dorchester County on December 22, 1928 the daughter of the late Cecil H. Wheatley and Mary Carroll Wheatley. Her husband, Ernest J. She is survived by a daughter, Beverly Dee Collins of Denton, MD; a grandson, Joshua Ernest Porter of Denton; Jamie Mitchem and Jean Door ,whom she valued as if her own children, and her special friends, Wayne, Mook and Cooper Andrew and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Cecil Wheatley Jr. and two sisters, Elizabeth Cordrey and an infant sister, Florence Wheatley. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 16, at 1 pm at Framptom Funeral Home, P.A. in Federalsburg with Rev. Gordon Hayes officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in Federalsburg. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 12 to 1 pm. The family has requested that donations be made in her memory to Caroline Nursing Home, 520 Kerr Avenue, Denton, MD 21629. Published in The News Journal on August 11, 2012
