Maddalone and mother Ida (Puckett) Maddalone moved to Aspen from Leadville when Angie was only 4 years old. Angie came from a large family and worked hard to help raise her brothers and sisters, of whom there were ten. Read More	Angelina F. (Maddalone) Caparrella, 86, passed away on Dec. 21, in Aspen. Angie was born in Gorham Colorado in 1921. Her father James V. Maddalone and mother Ida (Puckett) Maddalone moved to Aspen from Leadville when Angie was only 4 years old. Angie came from a large family and worked hard to help raise her brothers and sisters, of whom there were ten. As a youngster she had clothes that she helped sew out of potato sacks, to wear under her dresses. Out of ten children she was the fifth oldest, so her tender years were very difficult. She spent good times fishing with her Dad Buckshot. Angie had an accident while in first grade at Washington School, her brothers and she were playing Indians and she got hit by an arrow, she lost sight in one eye. Angie always worked hard during her life. Traderman's Grocery, Waterman's Grocery, Jerome Hotel, Meadow's, Aspen School District as a cook and finally she and Tee bought the restaurant and bar in Glenwood which used to be Bunny's and now is the Eagles. They called it Angie's. Angie was a great billiard player and generally won against all comers. She also loved to cook and you might imagine she excelled at it. "Her family never went hungry." And her friends were always remembered with birthday cakes. At age 86 she got her first wild turkey while hunting, cooked all fifteen pounds of Tom Turkey. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Teleo, brothers and sisters Joseph, Anthony, James, Thomas, Charles, Francis and Mary Clapper. Angie is survived by Jesse and (Ann)Maddalone, Ida. Also sons Jesse and Judy Caparrella, Jimmie Roy Caparrella, grandsons Curt (Jackie) Caparrella, Corey and Kim Caparrella, one great grandson Christopher Caparrella. Many nephews and nieces and a valley full of friends.Angie was well loved and she will be missed. A memorial service will be held Friday, Dec. 28, at 10 a.m. at the Farnum-Holt Chapel, in Glenwood Springs. The family asks that memorials be sent to the Cancer Society, or the Heart Association.
