Angeline Helen Martinec was born in Lake Andes, SD on February 16, 1913 to Joseph and Isabel (Wagner) Martinec. She graduated from Lake Andes High School in 1930 and went on to attend Columbus College in Sioux Falls, SD for a year. On August 26, 1935 Angeline was united in marriage to George Sevening in Yankton, SD. In 1937 they moved to Platte, SD. To this union three children were born, Charlotte Kay, Douglas Lee and Mary Ann. Angeline was a faithful member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, was active in the Altar Society and the choir. She also was employed at various businesses: Platte Sale Barn, Coffee Shop, Hospital, Funeral Home, Flower Shop and the Bakery. Grateful for having shared in Angie’s life: her three children: Charlotte Sevening of Greenville, SC, Douglas and Diane Sevening of Vermillion, SD and Mary Ann and Don Lucas of Platte, SD; seven grandchildren: Diane Boedin, William Gresham and Lance O’Shield of Greenville, SC, Rodney Sevening of Sioux Falls, SD, Ryan Sevening of Vermillion, SD, Michael Wojciechowski of Geddes, SD and Ronald Wojciechowski of Irvine, CA; seven great-grandchildren: Stacy O’Shield, Ava and Nya Sevening, Michael, Jr., Kyle and Joshua Wojciechowski and Alex Wojciechowski; along with several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Angeline was preceded in death by: her husband, George Sevening (March 1978); her parents, Joseph and Isabel Martinec; five brothers: Paul, Ernie, Adolph, Ed and John Martinec and two sisters: Irene Kemper and Clara Larsen.
