Description	:	Angeline Marie (Lipp) Barnes, 84 of Lubbock, Texas, passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2014, in her home. Angie was born on the family farm in Timber Lake, S.D.,on April 26, 1930, and resided there until independently moving on her own into town, where she began supporting herself while still in high school. Read More	Angeline Marie (Lipp) Barnes, 84 of Lubbock, Texas, passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2014, in her home. Angie was born on the family farm in Timber Lake, S.D.,on April 26, 1930, and resided there until independently moving on her own into town, where she began supporting herself while still in high school. Angie graduated from Timber Lake High School in 1950 and then attended the Holy Rosary Unit of the Presentation School of Nursing in Miles City, Mont. There she met her husband Larry, also a nursing student, whom she married in a triple wedding ceremony with two other couples in 1954 while in Miles City. She also graduated from nursing school in 1954, and they began their nursing careers working in Miles City, Great Falls and Forsyth, Mont. In 1963, the Barnes family moved to Aberdeen, S.D.,then briefly relocated to Sidney, Mont.,and back again to South Dakota in 1965, where both worked at Holy Infant Hospital in Hoven. In 1968 Larry and Angie moved to Linton to work at the Linton Hospital, whereAngie became director of nurses in 1970. Larry lost his battle with hereditary heart disease in 1969, and Angie stayed on at the Linton Hospital and later accepted a position with the Strasburg Nursing Home in 1976. She enjoyed her time in Linton and Strasburg until moving to Smithville, Mo.,in 1996 to be closer to family where she worked at the local nursing home. By the summer of 2001, she relocated for the final time to Lubbock to be with her daughter, Pam. She continued to work as a registered nurse at Lakeridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Hospital until 2012,at which time a debilitating fall forced her retirement from a 60 year career in nursing. When not caring for others, Angie enjoyed reading, floral arranging, traveling and visiting with her siblings at annual family reunions, and her ultra light cigarettes. Although seldom heard, she also had a beautiful singing voice which equally matched the goodness of her heart. Angie is survived by her daughter,Pam,of Lubbock; son, Scott, of Georgetown, Texas; grandson,Patrick,of Lubbock; and her sisters, Helen Jasmund of Mead, Colo., Margaret Heck of Casper, Wyo., Therese Wisecarver of Smithville, and Celen Christianson of Otsego, Minn., as well as numerous extended family members, friends and co-workers Gone before her were her parents, Emery Lipp, Eva (Selzler) Lipp, beloved husband, Larry; and siblings, John Lipp, Betty Hullender,Mary Ellison, Agnes Springer, Sid Lipp, Gene and Andy Lipp. Holy Mass has been said in her honor,and ashes are to be interred at St. Anthony's Cemetery in Linton at a later date.
