Description	:	Angeline Reekers, age 93, of rural Orange City, passed away April 3, 2020, at the Good Samaritan Society in Le Mars. Angeline was born on May 15, 1926, the daughter of John Sr. and Tracy (Bomgaars) Van Oort. She was born and raised on her family’s farm near Orange City. Read More	Angeline Reekers, age 93, of rural Orange City, passed away April 3, 2020, at the Good Samaritan Society in Le Mars. Angeline was born on May 15, 1926, the daughter of John Sr. and Tracy (Bomgaars) Van Oort. She was born and raised on her family’s farm near Orange City. On June 24, 1947, she married Arthur Arie Reekers at Matlock. They first made their home in Sheldon, where she worked in the kitchen of the Iron Horse Restaurant. They later lived in Primghar and in California before settling on a farm near Middleburg in 1978. In addition to farming, they also worked at the Pioneer Memorial Home in Orange City for many years. Art passed away on May 16, 2012, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, after almost 65 years of marriage. Angie became a resident of the Good Samaritan Society in January of 2018. Angeline was a member of the Middleburg Free Grace Reformed Church. She enjoyed gardening, especially her glads and irises, and canning her produce, and taught her grandchildren how to do both. She was proud of her asparagus and rhubarb patches and shared it with her friends and family. She often prepared meals for those who were sick or in need and was known for sending get well cards. She also enjoyed crocheting and taking the grandchildren fishing with Art. She is survived by her three children and their spouses, Beverly and Henry Dunn, of Sevierville, Tennessee; Aletha and Wade Haarsma, of Hospers; and Allen and Karen Reekers, of Alton; nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, John Van Oort, Jr. and in infancy, Nicholas Van Oort.
