Description	:	Angeline Willhelmina King was born the fourth child of nine children to Arthur Matthias Engel and Mrs. Anna Viola born on Feb. 10, 1917, in Silver Creek in Merrick County. Angie departed this life Sunday, Aug. 14, 2011, at the Colonial Villa Good Samaritan Society Home in Alma. Her age was 94 years, six months and four days. "Angie" as everyone came to know her, was baptized as an infant at the Methodist Episcopal Church in Duncan on May 3, 1917. She attended Rural School District No. 10 in Merrick County near Silver Creek, where she graduated form the eighth grade. She resided with her parents near Silver Creek until her marriage. On July 20, 1944, Angeline Wilhelmina Engel was united in marriage to Bennie Lloyd King in Wilmington, Kan., by Judge Robert M. Swain. To this union two sons, Lynn Eugene and Roger Gene, were born. "Angie" resided in Silver Creek and a short time in Dalhart, Texas, while Bennie was in the service during World War II. After his discharge the family resided in Silver Creek until moving to Alma in 1999. "Angie" had packed parachutes in Fremont during World War II where she had met her future husband. She had served as a cook in the Silver Creek Public Schools, and been a checker at the Koza Grocery Store in Silver Creek. She also had been employed by B & D Health Care Products and D & L Manufacturing both of Columbus."Angie" was a member of the Silver Creek United Methodist Church, where she also served as a Sunday School Teacher. Angie was preceded in death by her father in November 1953; her mother on Nov. 18, 1972; her four sisters, Esther Gerber and her husband, Eddie, Frances Tschantre and her husband, Louis, Maxine Schweizer and her husband, Walter, and Geraldine Engel; two brothers, Warren Engel and his wife, Gladys and Chester Engel; and a brother-in-law, Bruce Kershaw. Angie leaves to mourn her passing her loving and devoted husband, Bennie, of Alma, and presently in the hospital recovering from a broken hip; two sons, Lynn King and his wife, Sharon, of Denver, Colo., and Roger King, of McCook; daughter-in-law, Cindy King, of Alma; two sisters, Donna Kershaw, of Silver Creek, and Doris Hardle and her husband Melton, of Fullerton; six grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; other relatives; and a host of friends. Graveside memorial services and burial of the cremated remains was at the Roselawn Cemetery, Columbus, NE. Published in Kearney Hub on August 16, 2011
