She was born Oct. 17, 1919, in Ellis to Jacob and Katherine (Niernberger) Bollig. She married Kenneth L. Newman on Sept. 1, 1941, in St. Peter. He died Dec. 21, 1993. They lived in Denver and St. Peter before moving to the Hoxie area. She was a homemaker and a cook at the Hoxie schools for many years. Read More	Hoxie -- Angelita Dorothy Newman, 81, died Thursday, May 17, 2001, at the Sheridan County Health Complex in Hoxie. She was born Oct. 17, 1919, in Ellis to Jacob and Katherine (Niernberger) Bollig. She married Kenneth L. Newman on Sept. 1, 1941, in St. Peter. He died Dec. 21, 1993. They lived in Denver and St. Peter before moving to the Hoxie area. She was a homemaker and a cook at the Hoxie schools for many years. She was a member of the St. Frances Catholic Church and St. Frances Sodality, both of Hoxie, and the Daughters of Isabella, Angelus. Survivors include four sons, Kenneth Lee, Kimball, Neb., Gary and Joe, both of Hoxie, and Robert, Sedalia, Mo.; a daughter, Marilyn Scott, Kosciusko, Miss.; three brothers, Bill Bollig, Hays, Albert Bollig, Aurora, Colo., and Clarence Bollig, St. Peter; four sisters, Lorraine Herrman, Hays, Frances Holzmeister, Angelus, Josephine Heier, Page City, and Louise Dreiling, Arlington Heights, Ill.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, five brothers and two sisters. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Frances Catholic Church, Hoxie, with Father Benjamin Saw officiating; burial in St. Frances Catholic Cemetery, Hoxie. Visitation will be until 6 p.m. today, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, and from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Mickey-Leopold Funeral Home, Hoxie. A vigil service will be at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Hays Daily News, 5/1/2001
