He married Mary Emma Umbreit in June 1894 in Thurston county, NE. They lived in Lyons, NE. In the early 1900's, they moved to Polk county, Minnesota, but returned to Lyons, NE by 1910. Angus worked as a carpenter. Angus and Mary had 6 children: James, Caroline (passed away 1900-1910), Louise, Ralph, Earl and one that died before 1910.	Angus was the son of James & Mary Edgell.
