The services were conducted by Bev. Emil Mueller, of Le Mars. and Bev, J. P. Lipu of Ireton. The pall bearers were old friends of the deceased and were Sam Diediker. M. F. Brodic, John Ostrom, Peter McKinnon, John Ericksen and Hans Ericksen. Angus McInnis, who had been poor health for some time, died at his home on Tuesday of paralysis, aged seventy-six years. He was born in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia on August 15, 1829, and was descended from sturdy Scottish stock. He was one of a family of eleven children. Three sisters and two brothers are still living at the old home and one sister, Mrs. Robertson lives in Johnson Township. Mr. McInnis spent his boyhood at Cape Breton and at the age of sixteen went to sea and for twenty years he followed a seafaring life. He was married on February 17, 1883, to Miss Hannah Boss of Cape Breton and enjoyed forty years of happy wedded life. Five daughters and four sons were born to them, all of whom are living. He leaves nineteen grandchildren. In 1872 Mr. McInnis came to Plymouth County and homesteaded on section 12, in Johnson Township and the place has been his home ever since. For over twenty years he has been a member of the Plymouth Presbyterian Church and has been one of its most faithful supporters. Be served as an elder daring all that time. Mr. McInnis was held in high esteem among his neighbors and during his residence in the county lasting over a third of a country made scores of friends. Be was one of nature's nobleman, sturdy, rugged, honest firm in his convictions, just and upright in all his dealings, staunch friend, possessed of a canny, but jovial nature which made him pleasant companion and neighbor.
