Description	:	Ragnar Mannerfeldt was born in Red Deer and lived most of his life as a farmer southwest of Sylvan Lake. He married Edna Mannerfeldt (nee Brod) in 1956 and together they established Wildrose Farms which was primarily a dairy farm. He contributed to his community and his neighbours knew he would help if they needed help. He married Edna Mannerfeldt (nee Brod) in 1956 and together they established Wildrose Farms which was primarily a dairy farm. He contributed to his community and his neighbours knew he would help if they needed help. He taught his children, Jaelene Mannerfeldt (Jim Jenkins), Karen Gain (Rob Gain), Ron Mannerfeldt (Rosa Mannerfeldt) and Jamie Mannerfeldt (Gaylene Dolphin) how to be resilient, persevere through adversity, be generous and live a life of kindness. When the dairy farm ceased operation in the early 90's, he turned his milk parlor into a wood working shop and began to create rocking horses. From 75 cows to at least 75 horses over the last 30 years each horse was created with his love. His inquisitive mind was always seeking a better way to create and do his woodworking. There are 'oven squirrels' in home all around the world with the stamp, 'Handcrafted by Grandpa Ragnar'. His many grandchildren brought joy to his life and the great grandchildren more joy. For each family, there was a new Rocking horse. After the passing of his wife Edna in 2016 he remained on the farm because Jamie and his family moved back to the farm to keep Ragnar where he wanted to be. This was a generous gift because Ragnar wanted to die where he had lived his life. Ragnar died peacefully in his sleep in the early hours of October 6, 2020 in Red Deer. In his words, "I have had a good life, and that is all I have to say." He has been buried beside his wife in the Burnt Lake Cemetery.
