Anka attained the age of 91 years and 26 days. The following is from the Lennox Diamond Jubilee Book. Arunt J. B. Hoffman was born in Freeport, IL, September 16, 1866. When he was but a lad, his parents came to Iowa. They left the Hawkeye state, however, in October, 1883 and entered Dakota Territory, locating on a farm in this locality. Mr. Hoffman married Miss Annie Ysbrands in 1891, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Ysbrands, with Rev. Ludwig Figge performing the marriage in the Turner county First Presbyterian church. The couple farmed south of Lennox for many years, and in the spring of 1935 moved to Lennox. This union was blest with 12 children. Three passed away in infancy, and a son, John, died when he was 17 years old. Mr. Hoffman died November 19, 1936. He was survived by his wife and eight children, namely: Mrs. Datered Wallenstein, Mrs. Ralph Goeman, Mrs. Harm D. Kuper, Mrs. Harm Hippen, Ernest, Eileen, Edward, and Tony Hoffman.
