Weeg, 97, of Sioux Falls died Friday, June 2, 2006 at Sioux Valley Centennial Hospice Cottage. Ann Weeg, daughter of Nan and Minnie "Buss" Buus was born on October 8, 1908 in rural Lennox, South Dakota. She married Olaf Weeg on March 6,1929, to this union two sons were born, Gene and Don. Ann was a devoted homemaker who loved to cook and bake for family and friends. In 1956, she and her family purchased their first mobile home park on West 12th Street, which she helped operate for many years. Ann designed and built her home which gave her much joy. She was very proud to still be living alone in this home until the time of her death at the age of 97. Ann and her three sisters, "The Buus Girls", spent lots of time together shopping, lunching and playing canasta. Ann enjoyed driving her red Buick and would make several trips daily to Lewis Drugs and Sunshine on errands. She could make that Buick "talk". Her later years were spent watching the traffic in front of her home and working her word search books. Ann always had the coffee pot on and loved drop in visitors. Ann was a devoted Grandmother to her five grandchildren who gave her much love and care throughout her life. Grandma Ann brought love and joy to her family for which they are eternally grateful. Ann had a strong religious faith and attended Peace Lutheran Church until she was no longer physically able. Blessed to have shared in her life are her son and daughter-in-law, Don and Toady, daughter-in-law, Ardyce, four granddaughters, Geri Schultz (Mike), Kathy Trankle (Ray), Jody Carstens (Gayle), Gina Sorenson (Larry) and grandson, Doug Weeg (Janice), nine great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, a sister, Darlene Thielsen, a brother-in-law, Alvin Fodness, and many nieces and nephews. Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Olaf, in 1979; a son, Gene; a great-grandson, Thad Schultz; her parents; four brothers; and two sisters. In lieu of flowers donations in Ann's memory may be directed to Sanford Children's Hospital or Sioux Valley Centennial Hospice Cottage.
