She was born March 17, 1931, in Bellevue, Jackson, Iowa daughter of Anton and Irma (Mueller) Michels. She was baptized at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bellevue on March 22, 1931. Ann was raised and educated in Bellevue, graduating from St. Joseph High School in 1949. She married Kenneth Duane Witt at St. Josephs in Bellevue on April 24, 1954. She was a homemaker and devoted mother and wife. She also worked at Rastrelli's Restaurant in Clinton for 20 years before moving to Hackensack, Minn. While in Hackensack she and Ken owned and operated the Birch Haven Resort for several years before retiring. She was an avid reader and card player. Surviving are her husband; 10 children, Stephen Witt, of Marshfield, Wis., Kathy (Mark) McGuire, of Omaha, Neb., Karen Witt, of Clinton, Michael Witt, of Pewaukee, Wis., Beverly (AL) McGuire, of Monmouth, Ill., David (Alex) Witt, of Greeley, Colo., Sue (Brian) Hutton, of Sherard, Ill., Jane (Jeff) Roth, of Camanche, Jean (Chris) Matheny, of Clinton, and Mary (Joe) Michaelsen, of Fulton, Ill.; 26 grandchildren; two brothers, Thomas (Lorraine) Michels, of Bellevue, and David (Christina) Michels, of Sutton, Alaska; two sisters, Barbara (Wayne) Bainbridge, of Bellevue, and Jane (Len) Weber, of St. Donatus; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Paul Joseph Michels. Memorials may be sent to the Good Samaritan Home Care, Box 315 Nisswa, MN. 56468.
