ALGUIRE The funeral services for the late Mrs. Ann Elizabeth Alguire were held Saturday afternoon at one o'clock, as already stated in this paper, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Ballentine, deceased's son-in-law and daughter. Rev. J. B. Thomason of this city officiated and the interment was made in the Wiota cemetery. The pall bearers were William Mastellar, Columbus Prall, Bert Prall, Theodore Knop, Thaddeus Acker, and John Berry. Elizabeth Ann Myers was born July 7, 1842; died February 12, 1914, aged 72 years, 5 months, 28 days. She was born near Ontario, Canada, and died at the home of her daughter Mrs. B. F. Ballentine. On December 25th, 1863, at Beetown, Grant County, Wisconsin, she was united in marriage to Guy Allen. To this union were born nine children, seven of whom have preceded her to the Great Beyond. The two surviving children are Sarah Ballentine and Grace Darling. Her husband died in 1903. On October 5, 1910, she was united in marriage to William Alguire, he also being deceased. She was a consistent Christian, belonging to the Methodist church which she joined in her early youth. Funeral services were held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ballentine, February 14, 1914, conducted by Rev. J. B. Thomason, her former pastor of the M. E. Church. The death angel has once more visited our community and taken from our midst our friend and neighbor and one who had been so faithful in all of her life to help others in their labors and life long work. For to know her was to be her friend. When the summons came she said she was willing to go and she has gone to join that great family in heaven. May we all be ready to join her in the great reunion. O call it not death 'Tis a glorious rest in peace Yea sayeth the spirit For all such are blest. They rest in peace from their labors Their work is done The goal is attained The weary race run. The battle is fought, The struggle is o'er, The crown now replaces The cares that she bore, A rest in peace now remains For this servant of God.
