Description	:	"Died at her home in Plainview, Wednesday, Nov. 3, 1897, at 6:45 p.m., Mrs. Patrick Doyle in the eightieth year of her age. Mrs. Doyle had been a sufferer for two months and during that time loving hands did all that was possible to reliever her suffering and nurse her back to health, but all in vain. She gradually grew weaker until the grim reaper summoned her spirit to the great beyond. Funeral services were held at the house Friday, conducted by Rev. L. K. McNiel. Marie Geris was born in Paris, France, July 28, 1818. She was married at the age of 27 years to Phillip Bernard, in Paris, France, and came to America in 1846, and settled at Cincinnati, Ohio. Mr. Bernard died July 5, 1851. To this union were born 7 children, three only of whom survive their mother. Mrs. Bernard left Cincinnati and moved to Monmouth, Ill., where in 1856, she was married to Patrick Doyle. To this union were born two children, Mary Ellen, who married Bruce Sires and who died in Plainview, a couple years ago, and Anna Elizabeth, who is now living in Plainview." Published in the Pierce County Call, Pierce, Nebraska on November 12, 1897. Her obituary was on page 4. The newspaper was digitized by Lied Pierce Library and found on their website. Ann Marie Geris was my GGGrandmother Margaret Josephine (Geris) Goeury's oldest sister. The location of her birth, "Village of Mussy-la-Ville, Township of Virton, Province of Luxembourg, Belgium," is based on the location of Josephine's birth which was documented in the marriage certificate of Josephine and her husband Jean Baptiste Goeury which I received from Jim Almquist in 2013 and had translated by Guy Gallez from Manage, Belgium in 2014. My GGGrandmother Josephine (Geris) Goeury's obituary stated that she was a native of France, and my GGGrandfather, John Goeury's obituary stated that he was born near Paris, France. I am guessing it was just easier for people to understand where they were from by stating it that way.
