Anna married Jacob Sandry Oct. 1, 1905, and to this union three children were born. Mrs. Sandry was of a happy and ever hopeful disposition. No matter what came she saw a silver lining in the cloud. During her life, sunshine and rain were happily interchanged with each other. When meeting and visiting with her one never detected the rain. This disposition often helped her over some very stony and rough roads and thru some hard and dark hours. But thru it all she was able to ﬁnd her equilibrium. She was a devoted wife and mother and shared equally with her husband the duties and responsibilities as becomes an energetic and hopeful farmer’s companion. Deceased became a member of the M.E.Church shortly after her marriage and remained a member to the time of her death. She nor anyone else ever thought that within three days after becoming bedfast she must lay down her life to bring life to this World. About two hours before her death she requested a portion of scripture to be read and to offer a prayer, which was done. She desired to make peace with her God which, thank God, we believe she received. She died in a peaceful manner with a testimony upon her lips that God accepted her and she was His child and was not afraid to meet her God. This testimony ought to be a warning to all and inspire each one to a holy life in Christ Jesus while in vigor and health. According to human calculations her death came all too soon, but not ours but God’s will be done. She leaves to mourn a deep stricken husband and three children, Fern, Odean, and Silvy all at home. Also a mother Mrs. Anna Styir Meyer of Caledonia, a sister, Mrs. Della Feuerhelm, and brother Henry Styir both of Mays Prairie, and a half brother Louis Meyer and two half sisters, Mrs. Ella Twite, and Amelia Meyer, all of Caledonia, besides a host of other relatives and friends. May God comfort the bereaved and add peace to her ashes. The services were conducted from the house to the church on Saturday, May 10th at 1 o’clock and were led by Rev. B.A. Wendlandt of Mays Prairie, who preached an appropriate and comforting sermon on, “there is but one step between me and death,” 1 Sam 20:3. The remains were laid to rest in Mays Prairie Cemetery.
