Obituary Mrs. Ann Pittman Ann McBride Pittman was born on April 12, 1849, at Corydon, Ind, and died at York, Nebr., on June 9, 1943, at the age of 94 years, one month and 27 days. Obituary Mrs. Ann Pittman Ann McBride Pittman was born on April 12, 1849, at Corydon, Ind, and died at York, Nebr., on June 9, 1943, at the age of 94 years, one month and 27 days. She was one of a family of 11 children, all of whom have preceded her in death. She was married to Eli J. Pittman at Corydon, Ind., on Nov 30, 1886. To this union, two sons were born, Walter B., and John W. When she was 16 years of age, Mrs. Pittman united with the Presbyterian church, of which she remained a member until the end of her life. On Nov. 18,1873, Mr and Mrs. Pittman moved from Indiana to Cass county, Nebraska, where they lived until August, 1896, when they came to York county where she has since made her home. Mr. Pittman preceded her in death in November 1920. "Grandma" Pittman, as she was known to all her friends, will long be remembered. Her experience and remembrance of the Civil War and the early days was most interesting. She was always of a sunny and cheerful disposition, ready and willing to help others as long as she was able. She was a faithful member of the church and took a great interest in the W.C.T.U. and the Rebekah lodge of which she was a member. She leaves to mourn her loss, two sons, Walter B., and John W., and Mrs John W. Pittman, all of York, with whom she made her home; two grand-daughters, Mrs. C.A. Hansen and Mrs. Irvin Fickes; Three great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren, all of York, and a number of other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held at the First Presbyterian church of York on Sunday afternoon, June 13, at 2:30 O'clock. Rev William J. Hage conducted the services. Interment was in Greenwood cemetery. IN MEMORIAM She was upright and just in her ways. Faithful to the end of her days. Thought forgotten by sons of the world she may be. "Gently at dawn as tho' he called her name. and gave from age and suffering quick release. An angel with averted vision came and opened quietly the gate of peace. CARD OF THANKS We wish to thank our friends most sincerely for their love and sympathy in the beautiful flowers, the sweet words of consolation, and the many acts of kindness to help comfort us in our recent sorrow.
