Description	:	Anna Armstrong was born 15 Sept 1825 in Ireland to parents William Armstrong,Sr.and Sarah Cunningham Armstrong. Anna Armstrong married Alexander Neely on 31 Oct 1844. Their children were: William Henry Neely (15 Sept 1845 - 23 Apr 1904) married Effie Claar on 22 Feb 1882. Mary Elizabeth Neely (27 Nov 1846-15 Aug 1859) was killed by a threshing machine accident. James Wilson Neely 29 Apr 1849 - 24 Sep 1904) married Sarah Hashbarger on 24 Oct 1872. He was found in his Wellston home with his head crushed. A William Finnerty is convicted of manslaughter. The 1870 Census shows the three children born in Pennsylvania so that state was probably Anna Armstrong Neely's home in the late 1840's. Alexander Neely dies 17 Feb 1850. Anna moves the family to Madison Township, Jackson County, Ohio to live with her parents, brother and sister (1850 Census). Anna Armstrong Neely married William Smith on 16 Mar 1854. They had seven children, all born in on their farm in Greenfield Township, Gallia County, Ohio: Charles Albert Smith(2 Mar 1855 - 5 Sept 1926) married Carolina A. Reynolds on 6 Mar 1879. Emma Jane Smith (19 Oct 1856 to 28 Mar 1939) married L.F. Sherritt on 14 Mar 1912. Sarah Ann Smith (26 Feb 1868 to 28 Oct 1935) married John J. Morgan on 5 Dec 1888 and married Moses L. Roush on 12 Jul 1919. Benjamin Franklin Smith (26 Nov 1859-30 Dec 1860) Dies in mothers arms of supposed appendicitis. John Wesley Smith ( 16 Feb 1862-22 Apr 1865). John was outside during a storm and became scared. He hid under a wagon bed that was leaning against the barn. The wagon bed fell on him. He was found the next morning. Elmer Elsworth Smith (5 Nov 1863 to 23 Mar 1947) who married Mary W. Gray 15 Jan 1891. Flora Ellen Smith (10 Feb 1867 to 8 May 1914) never married. Anna died of cancer 21 Feb 1894.
